Balancing theory with practicality and reality\, Scott will relay his real-world lessons for leading your organization in implementing collaborative processes and tools. \nSoftware discussion will remain mostly agnostic but include a comparison of Scott’s experiences with tools such as Slack and Microsoft Teams. Using existing systems\, processes\, and structures\, plus a limited budget\, to make significant improvements to your security posture. \nThis workshop draws on formal research completed in Maine\, plus further research and content to provide a comprehensive review of improved practices regarding users of information systems. It considers employees\, contractors\, and consultant\, together with extensions for customer and supplier access. \nAttendees learned about current approaches to reduce people risks. There are immediate and low-cost ways to reduce risks\, measure\, and pinpoint areas where the organization can improve. MTUG extends a HUGE THANK YOU to our generous event co-sponsor\, Systems Engineering! \nThe evening featured a brief “Tech Spotlight” presentation:\n“Transformation before Implementation\n– A crafted continuous improvement cocktail!” \nThis talk focused on the main theme of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) that was hot in the 1990’s\, utilizing Lean Six Sigma that was popular in the 2000’s and Agile Transformation that has taken hold in the last 10 years. The common theme that we tend to overlook is that all of these methodologies require a different mindset or a new way of looking at the value proposition. Most organizations miss this critical step before implementing new business process software.   \n\nBPR – begins with eliminating Non-Value-Added work\, dated legacy policies\, and manual efforts or paper based workflow.\nLean Six Sigma – Focus on the customer\, improve and smooth the process flow\, remove Non-Value-Added steps and waste.\nAgile Transformation – Agile is an umbrella of values and principles that make up a framework to help organizations build agility.
